Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the East Coast Tipi Co. website (eastcoasttipi.com.au) and the rental of our tipi tents and related equipment. By placing a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Definitions

• "We", "us", "our" refers to East Coast Tipi Co.
• "You", "the hirer" refers to the person or entity booking our services.
• "Equipment" refers to the Nordic Tipi tent and any accessories provided.
• "Service tiers" refers to our Self-Setup and Done-For-You options.

3. Bookings and Availability

All bookings are subject to availability. A booking is only confirmed once you have received a written confirmation from us (via email) or, for card payments, once your payment has been successfully processed.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking at our discretion. If we cancel a confirmed booking for reasons within our control, a full refund will be provided.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST. Pricing is calculated based on your selected service tier and the number of rental days.

• Pay Now by Card: Payment is processed securely via Stripe at the time of booking.
• Pay by Invoice: An invoice will be issued and must be paid in full before delivery.
• Pay Upon Confirmation: Payment is due once your booking has been confirmed by us.

We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Any changes will apply to future bookings only and will not affect bookings already confirmed.

5. Service Tiers

We offer two service tiers. It is your responsibility to select the tier that best suits your needs at the time of booking.

• Self-Setup: You are responsible for pitching and packing down the tipi. You must follow all provided setup instructions and ensure the equipment is returned in good condition.
• Done-For-You: Our team will deliver, set up, and pack down the tipi at the agreed address and time.

6. Delivery and Setup

Delivery is available to selected areas across Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, the South Coast, and the ACT. You must provide an accurate delivery address and any access instructions at the time of booking.

You must ensure that the setup location is safe, accessible, and suitable for the equipment. If our team arrives and is unable to set up due to site conditions, access issues, or missing information you failed to provide, additional fees may apply.

7. Care of Equipment

You are responsible for the care of the Equipment from the time it is delivered (or set up, for Done-For-You) until it is collected or packed down. You agree to:

• Use the Equipment only for its intended purpose.
• Keep the Equipment clean, dry, and secure.
• Not modify, dismantle, or sub-let the Equipment.
• Not use the Equipment in hazardous weather or unsafe conditions.
• Notify us immediately of any damage, loss, or safety concern.

8. Damage and Loss

You are liable for any loss or damage to the Equipment caused during the rental period, regardless of the service tier selected. This includes damage from misuse, negligence, fire, storms, animals, or unauthorised modifications. You may be charged the full replacement or repair cost of any damaged or lost Equipment.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

• More than 14 days before the rental start date: Full refund, minus any non-refundable processing fees.
• 7–14 days before the rental start date: 50% refund of the total booking value.
• Less than 7 days before the rental start date: No refund, except at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.

Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email. Refunds for card payments will be processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

10. Weather and Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures to perform our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, or other force majeure events. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule your booking or provide a refund where possible.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with your booking is limited to the total amount paid for that booking. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of enjoyment, event cancellation costs, or third-party claims.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless East Coast Tipi Co., its owners, and staff from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Equipment or your breach of these Terms.

13. Safety

You must follow all safety instructions provided with the Equipment. The tipi should not be used during extreme weather events, and all pegs, poles, and guy ropes must remain secured at all times. We accept no responsibility for injury or damage resulting from improper use or failure to follow safety guidance.

14. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website. By booking with us, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in that policy.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The most current version will always be posted on our website with an updated revision date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
